If you're enclosing a printer to print in ABS/other higher-temp plastics, moving the brains of the operation outside of the enclosure is a really good idea. WebFirst, remove the hot end (cylindrical heating element) and thermistor (sensor) from the heat block. Next, disconnect the heat break/metal feed pipe and nozzle from the heat block. You may need to use a 6mm wrench to get the nozzle off. Then, connect the metal feed pipe to the heat block. Hand-tighten 1 or 2 turns.

If you leave it printing fast on small layers you can end up with a mess since the previous layer is still not solidified enough when the next one is put down.
